Hi guys!

Mike from tti said they only have two mufflers with their 3" system.Flowmaster 843051 3 chamber muffler and Flowmaster 843041 2 chamber which are 409 stainless steel.
Please let me know which one to go for and why or shall i just go with something else?
I guess this comes down to personal preference like carburetors but i need to give them an answer asap so all inputs are welcome!

Thank you,

Peter

Sorry,issue has been solved now!

I thought they only sell Dynomax?  Go with the Dynomax Ultra Flo's if you can!

cavemanno1

they just emailed me and said they ONLY can supply the 3" system with these two!
Just watched it on youtube and the 843041 2 chamber one(40 series) is the more aggressive one and i like it a lot.More then the first one which is 50 series and quieter!

Why do you say to go with the Dynomax? Is there anything wrong the Flowmaster?

Thanks,

From what I have read Flowmaster has lots of drone while cruising and the Ultra Flows don't.

1-0 for Dynomax so far then!
I have asked them why they can't supply it the system with Dynomax but haven't got back to me yet!
I guess i should just go and buy the muffler separately?Could you tell me who has it in stock?

Thank you!

Thanks!I looked at summet racing but only found full systems.Guess didn't look hard enough  :slap:

Update, just got this email from Mike!

Hello Peter,

I apologize I can use the Dynomax 17221 muffler's the are stainless as well. http://www.dynomax.com/mufflers/ultra-flo-welded-mufflers/ultra-flotm-welded-offset-centered.html

So i guess it's all good after all.It seems he thought that Dynomax wasn't stainless steel? :scratchchin:

Sorry for waisting your time and thanks for your help guys!

Not a waste of time. Glad you will be able to order everything at once  :2thumbs:

As it turns out i was mistaken by the price because i saw on their site $804 including mufflers and when he sent me the invoice it was $1760 :flame:
So after all i'm no way of going stainless steel and choose the 16 gauge aluminized steel. He said they use it for 99percent of their system so i guess it can not be bad!
Also for the Dynomax ultra flow upgrade would be $189 so i just stay with the super turbo. This one sounds really throaty and i like the deep tone of it!

Bit of missunderstanding from my part!

Thanks

I have run 3" flowmasters and 3" ultraflos and they both drone the same amount at the same rpm ranges. The only difference is the audible tone that each muffler makes.

Here's my car with the Ultraflo's. 2.5" system though. 440 with Lunati cam. I had the flowmasters and really didnt like them after hearing these. It's all personal preference though.

OP, some here will insist that Dynomax Ultraflo's will give you maximum performance from your drivetrain.  Flow masters have the reputation of sounding great but not performing as well, often criticized of restricting exhaust flow.  Sure, it may be only a few HP, but if you're like me trying to squeeze every bit of power then you want the least restrictive: Ultraflo's.

Also, with an X pipe I have no noticeable drone but the exhaust is somewhat raspy; sounds like a new 5.0 Mustang?

LOTS OF IRRITATING DRONE WITH 2 CHAMBER FLOW MASTERS
SWITCHED TO MAGNIFLOW, CHANGED TOO QUIET.
ULTRAFLOWS NOW, NO MORE DRONE. NOT TOO LOUD AT IDLE BUT REALLY BARK AT FT
1969 dodeg charger, 528 hemi ,Tko 5spd.

Thanks guys!I went with the 16 gauge aluminized steel 3" x type system with Dynomax super turbo.I'm not after maximum performance and to be honest any v8 sound is a good sound for me!I like them all drone here or there.

By the way just some info.TTi stainless steel 3" x type system without mufflers is around $1450.

You would think for $1450 that would include mufflers and shipping.
