There a show called Dallas car sharks and it is supposed to have a 73 charger on it tonight. Show is on velocity at 8:30 central time. The show is about some folks that go to auction and buy cars to fix and flip. It's ok. Probably staged, but at least it will have a 73 on it.

Oh staged for sure but not a bad show.  That little old lady is always buying the rusted out clunkers.  I wonder who will buy the 73?  I'll have to watch now.   Hopefully they don't molest it! 🙈

Wife said spend more time with me and less time with that Mopar.
I actually love being single!

Yeah I hope they don't molest it either. The title of the episode is "Plubm Crazy" so it's either already painted that or it's gonna get that paint job during the show. Description also says 2008 Ferrari, but I doubt it's plum crazy

Good catch 73rallye. It looks like a 72 with a 73 hood and bumpers.

It's not a 73!

Good call Raymond. Although not too tough to catch that one for those who know the 3rd gen Chargers :2thumbs: :2thumbs:

It amazes me that the people in the show do not know the actual model year. Are you telling me that the actual owner doesn't know what year is own Charger is? Or if it's not the actual owner and maybe the Charger was obtained by a lean or impound. You would think when they did a VIN search that it would come up as a 1972 Charger.

I highly doubt it that it's actually a 73 Charger and the previous owner switched out both rear quarters and quarter windows.

Solid car BTW

Oh well! Mistakes happen.
The positive; it got a refresh of sorts!

That is exactly correct :yesnod:

I can't believe someone paid $12,000 for that 318 car, just because of the paint. The wheels are Dodge truck wheels I'm pretty sure, and look nasty on it :eek2:

yeah the wheels made it look jacked up, like it had a lift.

GOTWING

 that must be the ugliest charger ever ! before and after  :eek2: heck they may as well put two stupid "racing stripes" up the hood as seen on many thrown together 73-4 Chargers to top off the ugly.

RallyeMike

I was bummed because I fell asleep before it came on..... looks like I didn't miss anything.

Be thankful that it didn't end up like the Buick.

If it is a 73, the quarters and doors have been replaced with 71/2 panels.  The doors which you can see at the beginning have different lines near the mirror, clearly not 73 and obviously the quarter windows. My guess is it is a 72 and the bumpers were replaced with 73/4 bumpers and hood. It is a 73 hood, you can tell by the cowl vents.

The wheel styling was fine, but the offset/backspacing look terrible and almost unsafe.  Do 3rd Gens really sit up that high?  Talk about a slapped together project.    :eek2:

I was more interested in the Ferrari F430 and the little brunette working on the Riviera...

lukedukem

i pulled some screen shots of the charger. it does seem high.

just like the "72" on fired up garage and a couple of outer 3rd gen on these "reality " shows( they just can't get it right )  , they say what the script writer (who could have been working on make" my kid the next president "  last week)  says to say  :yesnod:

Be thankful that it didn't end up like the Buick.

The Buick ended up like it did because it's a Buick. We all know if that were a 2nd gen Charger or even any 68-70 B Body it would not be sold off for $300.00 scrap.

JB400

Boat tail Buicks have a cult following and are worth more than you think.  The only reasons that one didn't fit the bill was the wrong engine and the rust issues.  If it had the 455, it would have been a different story.

400sforever

im glad to see I wasn't the only one who noticed those slackers on fired up garage called that 73 charger a 72 haha. They did it several times throughout the show. You would think one of them would be smart enough to whip out a smart phone and google some pictures to see what the heck they actually had for a year!
