Aux Heaters for the winter

Has anyone ever used this heater from NAPA?

Is it worth the time?  A friend got one and had it wired into the same plug as his block heater in preparation for this winter.

I guess if you did not have a working heater/defroster in the car, it would be OK.   Otherwise, I would not bother with it.

I would think that a 195 degree thermostat would be a far better solution.

I bought one like it(harbor freight version) for my jeep a long time ago and it was so loud I couldn't hear the radio.

What about the 120volt version?  That's what I meant to ask about. 

I just want to be able to plug it into the wall while the car is parked.  I've moved further north (short term I pray) and the car is only getting driven short distances.

Looks like it is capable of being mounted.   Not sure I'm crazy about leaving a 900 watt heat source plugged in unattended.   That will also use up some electricity over a long period.

Electricity isn't an issue right now.
