Energy Suspension Bushing kit

With a couple hundred miles on the bushing kit I installed on the 69 Charger I just wanted to put out a recommendation. DO IT! Energy is top quality. The master suspension kit comes with pretty much every bushing and boot your going to need to replace all the old rubber bushings in your suspension with new polyurethane bushings. The car handles much better now with tighter response and a smoother feel to the ride. The upper A arm with rubber bushings was stiff and difficult to move up and down. When it did move it was grabby. With the poly bushings installed it would move with one finger but tight. The rear end had a mind of its own before the poly bushings. Now it rides true and doesn't try and steer the car under hard snap acceleration on the highway. Make sure you order the tranny mount and the sway bar bushings as well. They don't come in the kit. This was a very good upgrade.

Did you order direct from Energy Suspension?   :icon_smile_question:

I use poly in all my rebuilds with great success. Other may poo-poo it, but I've had good results. The only caveat to using them is to be mindful of the front strut bushing thickness and make sure it allows the lower pivot arm to fully seat in the k-frame.

Do they noticeably squeak more than rubber, or is that a fallacy?  Are there any specific bushings where rubber would be preferred?

No squeak whatsoever. The supplied grease is like honey and stops any chance of squeak. The suspension feels like a new car right out of the factory. One of TODAYS new cars. I never had one of these cars new however I would bet its better then new.

As pointed out, if you use their supplied lube, the chances of squeaking are greatly reduced if not eliminated. However, I can say I've also had rubber bushings that squeaked and definitely squished to a degree you could hear them.

A number of owners prefer rubber in the lower control arm over poly because of the double steel sleeve of the original style rubber bushings. If you use offset upper bushings, they are only available in rubber unless you buy some hugely expensive ones from Australia. The most critical area where poly is a huge benefit is the strut bushings. The compressive force on the strut during braking leads to dynamic alignment changes in a rubber bushings that a poly can better resist.

after replacing my old rubber rear spring bushings with polyurethane I now feel vibrations at around 50 mph. Not complaining about the bushings, made me aware of other driveline problems I have.
