I'm aiding in the refurbishing of a friend's (WINGMAN's) Daytona. At this time we've replaced the vacuum pods (old ones not working) and replaced the seal beams, witch was had to find (non-halogen). Replaced the grille frame and screen, and spoiler. Also have a very nice replacement vacuum hose set. He'll be rebuilding a replacement engine to install, the original engine is worn and will be rebuild at a later time. Just getting up and operating so he can drive and enjoy. Here are some pics.

Gunning for Talladega?  Hope so!

Love the color combo...

restore before replace they are only original once and the parts that came with the car will always fit better and add value down the road
if you absolutely have to replace use original parts avoid repo as much as possible.
as an example my superbird has two small moth holes and im not touching it
if it was easy anyone could do it

"if you absolutely have to replace use original parts avoid repo"

Thier is not a lot you can do with the 46 year old vacuum hose set, it's hard as a rock and brittle in other areas. The goal is to have everything working as entended. NOS parts will be used where possible. As far as repo parts go, some one in its past installed repo parts on this car, Wingman has up graded those parts with a higher quality. The parts are from Mike (Dayclona), and others. Nothing cheesy or half ass is going on this car.

WINGMAN

My Daytona is all numbers matching, the original engine is tired and I am building a different 440 to drop in so I can drive the car for a few years until I completely restore the car. Was thinking about adding power brakes as we all know how these cars stop with non power drum brakes. I have owned the Daytona for around ten years or so and am the 3RD owner with full history. Sold new in OK and spent al of its life there until I bought it. :icon_smile_big: (Wingman).
