I recently rebuilt my 904 behind a 318 and started having shifting issues on like the 6th drive.  It was fine with firms shifts from 1-2 and 2-3,  2-3 is happening about 70 when full acceleration.  This morning though under 3/4 acceleration it didn't want to shift from 1-2 or 2-3 until I took the throttle off.  It would start to shift and than the vehicle would vibrate. I would lift the throttle and shift would complete.  Didn't try full throttle takeoffs due to traffic this morning.  Light throttle later on did not have issues.  Last night on the same drive path no issues.  I am having a slight leak when the vehicle is off.  Seems to be seeping by the bolts when sitting.  Just after stopping not seeing any puddles to just watching right now until I get everything straightened out.  Last night before and after my drive oil was just above full.  This morning when I got to work fluid level was still just above full.

New issue popped up yesterday.  I was doing an extended cruise and after half an hour it juddered and slipped some on a 2-3 shift.  Did they for the next couple stops at full and partial throttle acceleration.  Beginning of the drive was just fine.

Having to lift the throttle to get it to shift suggests the TP linkage is set too tight, try backing it off some (shorten the linkage) before further troubleshooting.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Thank you John.  I backed it off 2.5 turns.  So far around the block is good.  Shift to third is about 70 again.  It had backed down to 60.
