That would be quite a car to have.  What are they going to be asking for it?

And to think, I passed on that car at $19k back in 1998 or thereabouts.  :slap:

If my memory serves me , that's when I bought my first 69 R/T , so $19k was a lot of money then for one  , $19k would/should have bought the best at that time (1998) .

It was a NON original engine, which was why I passed  :Twocents:

Correct - Yes it says in the article that the original engine was toast - so a period correct engine was dropped in its place.

Looks like a nice car , will check it out in person . I see PW , but no A/C . Funny to see some R/T SE's with no A/C , figuring people buying the SE option usually went for list of options . Myself , don't like the A/C on these cars , PIA having more to restore with it , and IMO , it clutters up the eng bay . Wish mine didn't have it .

A/C was a fairly expensive option and not all that common in 1969.  It seems odd when you think of the price of an RT SE Charger but it isn't as common as you may think.  Maybe he shot the wad with the sunroof and didn't see a need for another big dollar one?

Maybe most of the ac cars went to the west and southwest parts of the country. My 69 had ac. Like most all cars in my town where it gets over a hundred for weeks at a time. I don't even know if it gets hot in Canada

It isn't all the Artic wasteland that many imagine, I'm actually further south than Detroit.

Of the 3200 cars in the 69 Registry, 772 have a/c.  It would take some time but if I get it I will try and subdivide that into RT SE numbers and see how they compare to the totals.

Lord Warlock

My RT SE had AC, and the RT that donated the motor and trans had AC also, back in the 60s most people didn't even have central air in their homes, much less ac in their cars.  But mine were florida cars and ac is a little more in demand down here.  Interested in rtse numbers though.
