Have already done the disco-tek brake conversion using a body spindles and 12 3/4 cordoba brake calipers and rotors. Have ordered up a hotchkis front sway bar for a 69. Anybody do this, and did you have any problems with it. Car is a 70 with 69 k member and lower control arms, and has 17" wheels. Thanks.

Do you have a sway bar currently? Are you calipers at the 10 or 2 position?

fizz

No sway bar currently. Caliper @ 2 oclock position

I thought Cordoba rotors are 11.75"?
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

Keep in mind that you'll have to weld the sway bar brackets to the K member.  It's not a clean looking job/modification, but it works like magic around those corners.  Get the rear bar, too...

Could be right about the 11 3/4". Have an addco rear sway bar. Made bkts for the mounting on the rear axle that welded on instead of using the cheesy u bolts. Had to make the links too.
Myk, why do the bkts need to be welded?

It's just the way the setup is designed.  The brackets are welded and then about half of the bracket sticks off of the K-frame.  I think it's ugly as sin but it works.

Look up the installation instructions on Hotchkis.net to get a clear view of how to install it.  Don't get me wrong, it's a great piece and I don't regret buying and installing it at all...

Thanks myk, I looked at an installation on line. Couldn't see it good enough to see if it can be cleaned up somehoe

I called Hotchkiss and they said they hadn't heard about problems with front mount calipers.

It can't be-that's just where their sway bar mounts.  I'm just hoping it doesn't...break off or something, although no other members here that are using the Hotchkis front bar have had any complaints...
