I got the wrong build sheet in my car but it was only off by 20 numbers

How could you get the wrong build sheet in this car being that far off in number ?

Cars were not ordinarily built on the assembly line in numerical sequence according to the VIN, and the actual sequence could vary a lot.  For whatever reason, the R/T's scheduled production may have easily been delayed for several days.  Or, it is remotely possible both cars could have been in a repair hole at the assembly plant with their (green) back seats removed & then switched... although that scenario is a bit far-fetched.  That VIN sequence span is not all that far off to have mis-matched broadcast sheets, based on what I've seen.

I would have been highly suspicious if the B-sheet was from a car with a different colored interior or from a different plant.  I think the sellers genuinely didn't know.  That B-Sheet's condition matches the good condition of the car too.  Both were well-kept.

Great looking car!

My first thought regarding the wrong sheet. is that both cars were at the same dealer.318 car has damaged seat , new owner mad that he can't get his car right away. Dealer swaps out seat then gets the R/T seat repaired.

Would be nice if your 318 car gets damaged & they try to substitute it with a R/T thats the same colors. :o :icon_smile_big: LEON.

The bigger shame is the green interior.  :eek2:

And those stupid looking wheels  :Twocents:

Sold for $30k, so apparently 318 cars are almost worth as much as RTs now?

I'm pretty sure that the money on this car is because it's a nearly perfect unrestored car.  318 or not, all the paperwork and what looks like NO wear and tear for a car with 120k on the clock?  That thing was taken care of.  Personally, the Cream/Tan 69 383 SE survivor car that made the rounds here was a better car and I believe it sat idle for over a year at 35k.

It SOLD for $30K ?
WOW !
This makes me believe in marketing pure and simple !
and,
that some people are willing to pay a premium for "nearly perfect unrestored car", with all the paperwork and next to NO wear and tear if marketed correctly ?
No doubt it is a nice car...
but,
Mine has 134,000 original miles and runs absolutely perfect(never rebuilt), and is easily in as good or better shape than that 318 example(no offense), with the same one repaint over all original sheet metal done back in 1984, albeit mine is an R/T SE 440 Auto Car, and Black W/Black Vinyl Roof.
Just say'in...
I highly doubt mine would pull above $40-$45K ? and mine still has it's correct Broadcast Sheets in pristine condition(2 in fact).
Only wimps wear Bowties !

Don't be so sure, 69 RT's have been climbing in value a bit of late so you could get more than you think.  Then again, maybe not.
