Hi all,

So quick question. My grandfather recently bought a brand new Sierra 2500. He bought it with 17s but really wanted 18s so he found a set on craigslist and got them installed. The dealership said that the tire pressure sensors that we bought wont work with his truck, even though they are FOR his truck. Apparently there are two different sensors... is there anyone else who has run into this? What did you do? Also, does anyone know what we can do about it? RockAuto wont take the sensors back since they were installed so we dont WANT to buy new ones but it seems like there isnt another option.

Thanks in advance for the replies!

Ones we bought: ACDELCO Part # 22853740
Ones we apparently need: ACDELCO Part # 13581558

Tire pressure sensors are usually adjustable, are yours? and honestly i've swapped sensors from steel winter wheels to aluminums on a cadilac escalade and they worked fine  :shruggy:

EDIT. are they the kind that act as a valve steam, or the kind that wrap around the rim?  :scratchchin:

One of the differences in sensors is some are location specific , as in there position needs to be relearned when the tire is moved or rotated . Some of the "ez" sensors cant be programed to do that . But you can buy just the stems and un- bolt the sensor from the old stem and re use them . Usually held on with a tiny torx bit screw .

TP Sensors can vary from year to year, so I'd be curious if the CL bought wheels were from the same model year truck?

CL wheels didnt come with sensors - thats why we had to order them. According to a GMC/Chevy forum I checked on it depends if the vehicle was for American or European markets and SOMEHOW we ordered the European sensors  :brickwall:

I bought a set of brand new police wheels that fit the Impala. The wheels are 18x7s with brand new tire sensors. I don't need the sensors. I will check the part# and post it. If they work, I'll give you a hell of a deal on them!PM me if you are interested.
