When I ordered it I saw 3/8 inlet BUT I didn't see 5/16 outlet size. So far I have gotten 3 different adapters all wrong to step up the fitting  from 5/16 on the pump to3/8 for the fuel line. Has anyone made this mistake and is there a correct fitting to fix the size difference ? thanks..

This had me stumped also. YES! Take the pump and steel fuel line to NAPA or any good hardware store and you'll find a brass fitting that screws into the pump AND fits the steel flair nut/tube. I found mine rummaging through a big automotive fittings cabinet loaded with all the plastic drawers full of brass fittings. (A trick is to look in every drawer, things get mixed up and mis-sorted.)
If you can't find one local you'll need to size the two ends to order, but it is just one single adapter.  :2thumbs:

I bought the fittings from Jegs a few years back ,    just looked on their web site  , cant find them now  :shruggy: :icon_smile_blackeye:   , were cheap too if I remember correctly  , got 3 or  different sizes in a pack  :scratchchin:

Weatherhead is brand name of fittings....try looking on a web site for part number, then call store to see if it's available....

being flared on both sides, it's gonna be a brake line fitting reducer that will fit

I just got that set and it still didn't have the right fitting. The 5/16  hose connector still has a 3/8 threaded end so I think I am going to have to try the  parts store. I figured it might be a brake line fitting but the hole in it would be quite small..
