Why do musclecar guys do an AWD conversion, involving tons of customizing, and then they don't bother to say anything about it?

Even HOT ROD magazine does it.  They can devote 3 whole pages of text to an AWD musclecar and you'll get maybe 2 sentences covering the drivetrain.  But they will spend several paragraphs describing the near-stock LS motor.

He's not using a lot of driver aids in those vids.

There is a hydraulic handbrake lever.  But that is mainly to reduce the manual effort & wear on the cable.  A standard E-brake would do the same thing if you   prevent it from ratchet-locking into place.
