I just popped my valley pan for an intake swap and took some pics to look at in detail on my computer. Thought I'd share how things look, generally fine with 6 years and 6K on a rebuild. I'm switching to Brad Penn for the long haul I started ordering cases of the oil to keep in stock.

The cam and lifters are Mopar Performance bought off Jegs (Resto RR cam) and this forum most likely saved my butt. I was not aware of the oil formula change just as I was about to press the car into daily use after a total rebuild. I'd put less than 100 miles on it with a high quality oil driving it very lightly at varying speeds and was getting ready to start pushing it harder. When I found the forum it was just in the nick of time I saw the sticky on oil.  :2thumbs:

Some of those lobe tips look worn. Could just be the lighting and angle. Wouldnt hurt to pop some lifters and look at the pattern. Only real way to check cam wear is with a dial indicator.

Yea I get ya, some lobes looked blueish in the pics like from heat...its the refection of my blue hood in the pic. I'm not too concerned at this point, that cam was picked to match lobe profile for the 6BBL and that's been swapped out. I've a set of Johnson lifers waiting for a new bumpstick when I switch to better heads.  :2thumbs:
I could still light them up at will so it can't be too bad.  :yesnod:
