Had to remove my VIN tag off the dash because it was rotted and needed attention in that area. Body guy said we had correct rivets but apon further inspection they do not look correct. I have researched the "correct" style ones and they are going for like $20 a pop!?  Should I just leave it the way it is or get the correct ones?

If it is still easy to change now it might be worth it

You might get tired of all the experts telling you the VIN has been swaped on your car

Any ideas where I could get real rivets and not pay some crazy price?

I'll have to look for the $20 ones I saw a while back..probably now up to $60. Highway robbery I say!!!

Hard Charger

when I was painting my dash and vin tag this winter I called the recommended source for them and he said he got to much flak making and selling them and stopped selling them altogether.

I do not remember who I spoke with but he seemed to be the source for many suppliers. he was a recommended source on this site.

I followed his recommendation and got some rivets and a file and notched the head of the rivet. the head of the rivet I had on had was smaller in diameter than the original factory one but I was happy with the result.

ECS still sells them.
