Good day to the community!

This is my first post here so

Im having a tough descision on my hands, I own a 71' 500 and a 71' SE out of which im trying to do a restoration. One has a great body and the other one's got the interior and all of the oily bits. Both cars are pretty much complete cars. The plan is to restore the 500 first, which is in better condition but has bodywork to be done.
In terms of market value, are there any good points for not going for a custom colour ? Both cars are dark green originally but will have to be repainted and dissassembled anyway. In the end I would like to restore both to as near to original condition as possible.

So my main question is: Will it hurt the market value alot if for example most of the car (500) is original and the paint is a custom colour (concidering a certain blue or candy apple orange)Most of the original colors available are quite bland and I dont want the car black as alot of them are aswell.

Let me know what are your thoughts on this. Thank you! A. from Europe

Hey welcome to the best 1,2,3rd gen Charger site in the world.

Depends on what you want, simple as that.
I don't know which is the more valuable car.
If you want to keep the most desirable of the two
original then go with stock color/interior etc.

Do your other car on the wild side.  :2thumbs:

Welcome A.

If you are looking to flip the cars it is always best to be as close as possible to original, especially when the car is rare. If you plan to keep the cars and want to truly enjoy them, do with them what will make YOU most happy.... I am a firm believer in WHO GIVES A DAMN WHAT SOMEONE ELSE THINKS.....  :2thumbs:

Dark green could help it possibly if you only wanted to look at it as an investment but you limit the number of chances to sell it.  There would be fewer buyers IMO interested in it and willing to pay a little more for the green. A nice color that presents the car better will attract more buyers and by that measure helps value.  A wild custom color like flip flop paint or wild graphics really limits buyers.
Choose a nice color that you like and don't think about investment, just enjoy the car.

Pretty much what I thought myself. It's better to get some second opinions from guys who know the thing you are dealing with. Thanks for that!

 welcome to the site

if your going to change from the original green (as others have said ,not the most popular colour) why not go with one of the stock 71 colours, there are some really "in your face " colours without going from something that you could have got back then   :Twocents:
