can wiper ends polish up?

I've found a few pairs of 15B wipers for my car but the end that fits on the splined pivot is dull and gray. It's not peeling like chrome would, not pitted like pot metal - so what's it made of and can it polish back up to a nice shine??

How dull?  I think they are supposed to be, no?

hard to describe - just a dull flat/satin gray color.  They should have a shine to them to match the stainless but just wondering if they'd polish.

The part that slides onto the wiper post is pot metal. They were painted originally to look similar to the muted stainless.

They were originally dull. The auto industry did away with shiny wiper arms during the 1960's to reduce glare.

SO that begs the question - so is pot metal normally dull?  If so, can it be polished or what is the correct paint?  IF that doesn't work, where can I get the correct rivets to put the stainless 15B arms on the nice pot metal parts I have -  OR is it just easier to find someone with a nice set of 15B wiper arms?  Anybody have some and what do you want for them?  Anybody want a really nice set of non 15B arms as a trade or partial trade?

Yeah they can be polished to an almost mirror shine. I did mine a while back and they look good, except when the sun hits them and I go blind.
