What do you think the value of a 68 Dodge Charger Nos passenger side rear quarter panel would be?

For me personally maybe 100 to 200 dollars more than an AMD panel.  :shruggy:

Ok thanks. I found one but the firm price is $2000.00 which I think is a little high.  :o :o

Some people absolutely have to have NOS parts no matter what and the NOS sellers will tell you that even though the AMD panels are kind of alright for daily drivers they can never equal the stunning excellence of NOS.  Body guys I've talked to say it isn't unusual to have to tweak NOS panels as much as reproduction panels to make them fit nice.  So who is right?  I don't know but its likely a little of both and so for me, the NOS one may be worth a little more but I just don't see paying crazy prices to be able to say it's all Mopar.  For the ones that can, 2k may seem cheap for it?  :shruggy:

I can get the full AMD quarters for $500.00 each. My car is a real 68 Hemi Car. I have a Nos passenger front fender and passenger Nos door skin installed already. I need quarters. I just have to decide what the best option would be. My drivers door and drivers front fender are very nice oem. My Nos fender is not perfect and needs some repair in the upper area that meets the door gap.

How does your body guy feel about NOS versus AMD?

I wonder say you sell it one day. Would having a nos 1/4 on it vs a AMD increase its value by the price offset ? I'd tend to think no. Mind you im the type that would rather a car that someone changed the whole 1/4 for an amd(properly installed) vs putting a million patches and a buch of filler and saying well its stil X amount original metal in the 1/4 area. :Twocents:

Most NOS parts were seconds from the factory. Yet to see any that were "perfect"

If you can afford it go for it. Can't go wrong if it's going on a Hemi car.

I am actually the paint and body guy. I know my Nos front fender is far from perfect. I have talked to guys that said they replaced a quarter panel with Nos and the did require some work and did not slip on like a glove. I purchased a drivers side door skin from Ron Lushia (Hard Core racing) and that door scallops were way too wide. That was a waste of $300.00 unless the door can be used on a 70 R/T. I have heard good things about AMD, it just scares me if they AMD quarters are not exactly like a factory quarter.

Put full AMD 1/4's on my 70. Fit well except where they meet up with the dutchamn panel in the corners and are wavy, but im sure the nos one isnt stright either. Look up my thread lots of pics of the instal.

When rebuilding my Charger, it needed both left and right side quarters as rust had taken its' toll.  Every piece on the rear of the Charger with the exception of the trunk lid and the rear inner fender wells had to be replaced. I ordered everything from AMD and, although there was some "tweaking" to get things to fit, I love the way they turned out. Seams are even and body lines are sharp!

If I had it to do over again (please, no!) I would break out the AMD catalog and sit down with my supplier and order it all again!

In the first picture, the 1-piece trunk floor and the last 3 or so inches of the outer wheel wells are installed.  The next 2 show the panels and the body lines ! The body line is a little hard to see on the picture of the driver's side but it is sharp and just right!

That's a pretty good endorsement.  :Twocents:

I've done both, NOS Charger panels, and the AMD full qtr Charger panels, I actually preferred the AMD panels, NOS require the same amount of "tweaking" to install...I preferred the AMD as the metal is much thicker and less prone to "oil canning" as you stress the panel into shape

Bye the way, if you go AMD find a close supplier that you can physically visit to have your choice shipped to for this reason. If the panel is damaged in any way from shipping, they can take it back right then and get a replacement. My supplier took some back (no questions asked) , a roof skin, and a passenger-side fender more than 6 months after they were delivered but not used!

My supplier also gave me a 10% discount for any order over $1000.00 ( easily exceeded this) and charged no shipping to his shop! AMD panels aren't perfect but usually require minimal fitting. So far (about 2 years after fitting them, they still look great. We took a lot of time to ensure all seams were even and minimal .

The hood had the usual pinholes along the leading edge and other imperfections that required a lot of time (he spent over 40 hrs. on the hood alone) and energy to get right!

The Dodge 3/4ton Quadcab in the background was bought to be able to tow the charger but, so far, it has only towed my buddy's Challenger! I really want an enclosed trailer but haven't found one yet plus there is the storage of the trailer issue!
