Howdy Folks,

A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to go to a carshow down where I was on holiday about 2 hours drive down the coast from home to a seaside town. Because of the International Dateline it is promoted as First Car Show in the World, pretty cool day out, 183 cars and bikes inside as well. Got up at 06.30 on NY Day to wash the old car, been starved of car events for months so it was a neat day out  :2thumbs:

Had a few mates turn up for a few cold ones along the way ...

Yeah it is.
They tail walk and will jump right into the boat and then thrash around trying to smash and kill anything in the way, its quite common actually.
The only way to kill them is to drag them behind the boat for a while before you take them onboard, an angle of 45' backwards works best roped across them , just gets them disorientated and gills filled I guess. Have heard of them coming back to life after being towed for two hours and then been taken aboard.

Not something I'd like to dance with  ;)

Cheers Dan, it was one of the best holidays I've had in recent years, probably just mainly for the fact of being back to do all that stuff, had a ball

Is it illegal to club or shoot sharks in NZ. They look like they're built for speed. How far do they run when you hook em.

I suppose it is, I don't really know for sure, none of the guys I know would club or shoot em, just use a steel trace and play them if the gear is up for it.
Mako's are speed killing machines, Great Whites are top of the food chain though, I wouldn't be too ken to get near anything like that.
When you hook even a nurse shark or bronze whaler, its like hooking a train heading for Australia, again, whether the reel can hold together is key.
Hammerheads are amazing, so alien and magnificient
