As long as all you Aero Experts are here, I'd like to toss a question out.  The trunklid cap on this car has a lip about 3/4 of an inch long running perpendicular to the flat of the trunk lid.  I've never seen this before,  but then again I haven't seen that many C500s and Daytonas with the trunk open.  Was this used for a while, a TSB to cure leakage, or something else?  :scratchchin:  Has anyone else seen this before?

Is this possibly a regular Charger trunk lid that was converted to a 500 lid? If they converted it this way that would explain it. I have never seen a car with much more than a 1/8 to a short 1/4" lip.

500Jon

I've seen a few C500/Daytona lids, they are all pretty much 1/4" single down-turn Flange.
Creative probably had a hardwood former to shape the double curve?
But to save time and effort, no double fold like door skins etc...

I double-folded my flange to make it stronger, but its still a 1/4".
Thats just me, motor trade and fussy!!! :pity:

No mention of a broadcast sheet or any other original documentation?   I guess its all on the fender tag.  But for the super high price of $165,000,  I'd sure like to have some original paper to back it up.

I like the looks of the 70 charger much better.

Here's its window sticker.  Since it's a repop, I know it isn't "official documentation" but it is a fun read.  Being sold new in Cali explains the air filter.

WOW... I love the green Mopars. I guess looking at the before pictures and if all the good rare parts were stripped out it would take a pretty penny to restore to that level. Well heck if someone what's a green on green C500 I would sell my original paint numbers matching never wrecked Bug Shield C500 for the 50k range. That's over 100k savings.... :2thumbs:

I don't know how many serious buyers there would be for my "ugly" Green/Green 426 4 speed C500 at $165K

To get back to the craigslist car. It is one of 3 500's I have seen with cruise control. All 3 are in the same batch of cars too.
