Picking between the 2015 ‪Dodge‬ ‪Charger‬ ‪SRT‬ ‪Hellcat‬ and the 2015 Dodge ‪‎Challenger‬ SRT Hellcat is tough, but today I break down the differences between the two 707hp Mopar monsters.

Very interesting read.  http://www.torquenews.com/106/which-buy-2015-dodge-challenger-srt-hellcat-or-2015-dodge-charger-srt-hellcat

Despite the badmouthing I've given the four door Chargers I have to admit I like the Hellcat Charger better than its two door sister.

Get the Challenger if you want a manual trans, otherwise, I'd get the Charger and start selling rides.

On the topic of modern cars, I really like Danko Reproductions and their work on aftermarket parts/kits.  Not sure if anyone on here has posted any of his most recent pics, but here are a few.

I'd say try that body kit on the latest Charger body style.  The early new Chargers just don't do it IMO...

I can live with the tail treatment, but proportionately,  that grill is just too big.

Ghoste

Me too, the taillights are good but the rest just doesn't match the lines well.  I'd lose the shaker too.

How could the '69 grille treatment on that thing get any smaller?    They're working within the limitations of the LX unibody structure.  The front end is probably more suited to a Ram pickup look than a '69 Charger.

It's hard to beat the original 2nd gen.  Everyone else will just have to dream.

Ghoste

No I don't think it could, I hated the gaping catfish mouth grille with the minivan crosshair emulation but I don't think I would have tried for a mere retro substitution.  I prefer the 69 grille on the 2nd gen Charger but really on the 2005 I would have went for the simplicity of the 68 if anything.  Maybe not, just anything other than the gaping mouth with crosshairs they wanted so badly.  Much like my armchair CEO abilities though, if I were so smart then I would be chief stylist somewhere.

I do know what I want as a consumer though.

We have to wait 40 goddamn years for the aftermarket to make a repro '69 grille . . . . and they make another one for modern Chargers without even an existing demand?

Their nose kit doesn't even follow the contours of the original hood. :slap:  To make it look right though, they could have made the top more flush with the outside of the front bumper, and made it thicker at the top.

Well, from what I see on the modern car boards, lots of people are buying/ordering/asking for parts that make the sedan look like a "insert year between '66 and '74" charger.  In fact, the irony is that a lot of the people who will fight you tooth and nail about 4 door versus 2, are the same ones buying all the retro charger stuff...

But I agree, it would be nice if someone could make real '69 charger grilles, I'd buy one.  Danko does make some stuff for older cars, perhaps they can make them for us....
