Hello charger forum I am a brand new member and am hoping for some help and advise as I go forward with my own charger restoration. When I bought my 69 charger from my uncle (family heirloom) 4yrs ago I got a whole pallet of big block parts that I wont need and hope to sell these to help off set costs as I send my original motor for the car off to the machine shop, I have a guy that is interested in these parts but I have no Idea what they are worth??

item #1 is a 440 short block with rotating assembly in tact 3698830 This motor has been stored inside for 30yrs and would need torn down

item#2 is a set off heads 3462346 complete but also sat for 30 yrs and are not bolt on ready

item #3 is two sets of heads 2843906 complete but would also need redone

can anyone just give me a rough ball park figure of what this stuff would be worth as is??????

If there is a VIN on that 440, it could be someone's original engine to their car.  :Twocents:

My uncle said the motor came from a junkyard in michigan out of a state trooper car, police interceptor possibly?

Ghoste

Possibly but with Mopars the police engine is no different than the rest.  You hear about police interceptor but Chrysler squad cars weren't made that way.  Ford I think yes and Olds but?

I sold the complete interceptor I had for 750.00 two years ago.

66-71 440 blocks are probably worth $200-$400, on the higher end for 68-70 vintage. Core heads maybe $100/pair. Problem is that people want to know they're good and until they've been professionally checked out people are wary. If engines are complete, meaning you have all the brackets (alternator, steering pump, etc.) and tin they are worth more. Blocks, heads and internal parts are good for core value only but like I said it's based on the production year.

Ghoste

I just bought a complete 71 440 with ac compressor and power steering pump for 500 in Detroit.

ok guys that helps a lot, I was thinking 500 for all of it to start with so I might just ask that. Thanks again

Also factor the area where you live as well.  What one may get in their state you may get double that in yours.  As you can see what posted ranges from 300-750.  In my area I can easily get 600-700 for a complete motor.
