How do you add a copyright watermark to a photo before posting it online?

i dont know how anybody else would do it, but with photoshop i would take an image and create a new layer on top of it and copy in a logo or create a type, take all the color out and make it all white, and then go to layer properties and make the layer as transparent as i thought it needed to be.

watermarks themselves dont make anything copyrighted, it only makes lazy people not use your image.

wink wink, I know people that take watermarks out of pictures and use then anyway, just depends on how much time it would take and how complicated the picture was
