    I  must  remember to keep the steel wool and the batteries in separate draws  :yesnod:


notice how they warned about coming into contact with all sorts of metal things and then kept going back to the steel wool for effect  :popcrn:

       both should be part of any survival kit   :yesnod:   a $2 pack of steel wool can start hundreds of fires off one 9v  battery  :Twocents:

It's not only 9-volters. Any used dry cells tossed in a box have the potential to accidently wind up touching terminals in such a way to cause a short. Had an incident where I used to work that caused a serious fire, after that we had to duct tape the ends of all used batteries before turning them in for recycling.
