If you're going to put a crate Hemi in a car, at least make it a 528 CI or 572.

Clearly the 472 is a complete waste of space, a pile of junk.  Might as well install a slant 6 instead.  (Sarcasm)

Quite possible he had a tranny and rear end that could handle a 472 but not the extra 100+ ponies and torque of the bigger crate motors.   I bought a 426 K-head motor with ginormous carbs on it a few weeks ago and after some research on how much horsepower it would put down over my 383,  I realized quickly that the mill itself is just the start of how much $$$ you need to put into a hemi swap if you don't want the car to pull itself apart under WOT.   My 383, 8.75, and 727 are being gifted to my nephew for his Scamp project while I look for a D60 and a new slushbox.

my be he wanted iron heads    if I was ordering a crate  hemi would go for the 472 for that reason
