Okay, I been trying to figure out, I hear storys on the General Lee an how they got the orange. What's the story on the Richard Petty blue? How did they come up with it?  :shruggy: :popcrn:

It was created by the Petty Family.

It was by accident they did not have enough paint to paint entire 59 Fury.  Richard grabbed what they had and dumped two paints together(blue, white) and the rest is history.

Yah, was it his color and mopar used it after him?   Or was it a mopar color already?      :shruggy:

The Petty boys accidentally invented the color for their '59 Plymouth Fury.  The team had used white until then.  Petty Blue has been patented and trademarked.

Which is why Chrysler used "Street Basin Blue" and "Super Blue" on cars.
I've never owned anything but a MoPar. Can you say that?
