Looking under the dash at the '71 Challenger I am assiting on

I see a HUGE hole in the firewall where the brake rod goes thru.  like 2-3 fingers wide and tall.  Did my colleague leave off an important part?  I have never seen any other type car with a hole here.   It's called a FIREwall for a reason, right?

Also, while under the dash, I noticed light coming in thru an empty thraded? hole just forward of and abotu in line with the upper driver side door hinge bolts.  What is supposed to be secured in that hole?

Thanks,
Chris

Yes pics.  Sounds like your missing the reinforcement plate that is sandwiched bay the booster to the firewall.
68 Charger R/t white with black v/t and red tailstripe. 440 4 speed ,black interior
68 383 auto with a/c and power windows. Now 440 4 speed jj1 gold black interior .
My Charger is a hybrid car, it burns gas and rubber............

Photos of the view thru the brake booster at firewall hole, threaded hole just fwd of upper LH door hinge bolts that currently has no bolt in it, and the loose ammeter wires...

The wires is an obvious fix\

the booster hole and unfilled bolt hole I could use guidance on.

I do now have the factory service manual, have not had time to look these up yet.

Yes, your missing the plate at brake pedal rod. The white gasket I see in pic goes behind plate that is missing. LEON.
