No.  But what I'm saying is not any big secret. 


They also built quite a few automatic Hemis with 8.75" axles while they were putting Dana rearends in 440/4spd cars.   

It was the shock-loading of the 4spd (with big power levels) that really bent & broke things.  Big power levels alone were not nearly so hard on things when it was cushioned through an automatic tranny.
