Always something new to learn!   I did know about the valve interference just didn't know about the staggered valve solution.  Interesting.

Chrysler already had the solution, its called a Polysphere

not to sound stupid, but when he was talking about bigger valves = more fuel = more power/torque

couldn't you just hold the smaller valve open longer to get more fuel in?

sorry if that's dumb, im not a engine guru....

A pushrod hemi was very limited to how much hp it would make?   :shruggy:

Yes. That's one of several things that performance type cams do...

Since Chrysler registered the word Hemi® a hemi is whatever Chrysler decides it is.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

I already knew that my '53 Jag had a Hemi engine  :icon_smile_big:. The Jag head on his bench is the same as mine.

Yeah, I'm not sure but the new generation of "hemi" engines are not true spherical head engines, but still plenty nice.  I really don't know if they differ that much from modern Ford or Cheby products.  :shruggy: :shruggy:

Yes, more or less.  FWIW the 426 wasn't a true hemisphere either.  Close enough though, the current generation one has more in common with the Boss 429 chamber IMO.

I heard that somewhere also that the modern cars are not really true he is, but a catch phrase used to get sales, kinda like the modern charger it sells more of the name vs calling it a polar a, coronet, etc....
