Hey gang...

Bummer of a freakin' day...... Has anyone removed their 426 Hemi from their '69 B-body and can share their experiences? I drained my oil to replace the oil pan I had on it for a proper '68/'69 version and freakin' water and green milk came out !!! I'm so bummed. I just put the dang transmission back in after fixing the ring gear on the convertor. So, I'll be removing the hood and then pressing on. Will I HAVE to remove the brake booster assembly? I have TTI headers on it now, so I'll just removed the header attach bolts. I believe the shape of the headers are such I can go up with the motor and it will clear the header flanges. I will remove the radiator. I am suspecting a bad head gasket. I only have a couple of hours on the motor and it hasn't been freezing here in Houston.

Thanks in advance...

I agree completely. That's the way I did it. (from the bottom).

Tomorrow is promised to no one.......drive your Charger today.

That is the way I'm going to do it if I have to..... I was just frustrated yesterday since I took due diligence and care the first time. Then, just removed and replaced the tranny because the ring gear on the converter broke, now the water in the oil !!  :brickwall:

Something I may try will be Blue Magic Liquid Glass and Cooper. I was told by the shop that build the motor they've had some issues with hemi head gaskets. They have used this product on two to three cars with excellent results, no more leaks.....

no offence Troy  , don't think I would be using  any of that pour in stuff  , for a daily driver , maybe as a emergency fix .... hoping it will work !!    but ... in a hemi Daytona  or in my charger  nooo   :Twocents:

I'd agree, my situation was different  a PT with a 2.4 but coolant got in the oil  and ground extra clearance into the crank bearings and lowered the oil pressure.  I added some junk at the time  and still had to have the head gasket done. :Twocents:
