Politically Correct Tom & Jerry

I do like comedy of all kinds.
This is one odd one.---how funny is it that some people spend their lives and effort (and get paid by someone) to drag old history into the present and try to make a statement of some sort about it.

I guess their is (every 20yrs or so) a new generation that needs to be told how bad people were in the past.   I suspect their are collage courses that teach those that aspire to help us with this important understanding of our past.

Learn from the past and try not to repeat those mistakes, it's all we can do.  Man I sure loved those old Tom & Jerry cartoons, I need to watch those again.

They already did.... well sort of anyhow. Back in the late 80s they were all on the violence in cartoons kick so all the bugs/road runner toons were chopped up so they didn't show any characters getting blown up or smashed.  Everyone stopped watching and they realized how stupid they were.  Guess they are at it again.

I've watched plenty of Tom & Jerry, and never once, did they mention the roles the human characters played or any hierarchy, except for the teenage baby sitter.  Considering the fashion at the time, most ladies stayed home and done housework, in which an apron is appropriately used.  But, this would make this more of a sexist complaint instead of racist.  I guess it's racist to portray people of darker skin tones in a working environment

Some people just need to leave the cartoons alone and have a laugh, enjoying them for their original intent.

My kids have a dvd set with all the original Tom and Jerry Cartoons, uncut, uncensored/PC'd. Whoopie Goldberg does a 5 minute speech about although it looks racist and insensitive, she explains that it was a different time, etc and defends it. The kids love it of course. I have seen Bugs bunny cartoons that I know have been edited to some degree as they left out some parts that I clearly remember being non PC even in the early 80s when I grew up.

Their is a large group that have taken on the mission of telling us all how bad they think we are.  Their mission is to be our moms.

I appreciate their good intention.

To spend time with 50+ year old cartoons as a way to help us to be better humans is just plane odd.
