I doubt that that one will get saved.

At least there was no reserve on it.  Last thing this forum needs is another topic on a redonkulously overpriced piece of rust, that someone pulled out of the woods...

Who knows, maybe one day we'll see pictures of it restored...  :shruggy:

After you restore it, how could you prove it's a real FM3 Pink car with out the Fender Tag or Broadcast (build) sheet? Unless you carry around these old pics of it? LEON.

Does it really need a license plate?

Panther pink is awesome, outrageous, rare and cool.  I love seeing them at shows....but its not a color I would want.  Does that make any sense?  :shruggy:

ws23rt

It does.  I am drawn to it for an unknown reason. Never would have bought one new.

The odd stuff is attractive ---I guess just cause it's odd. :shruggy:

I'm also wondering the same thing. Very good question.

Now that it's been mentioned I got to wondering. :scratchchin:

Let's say the car was restored to a different color.  Would the fact that it is a FM3 car add to it's value?  Could their be someone out there that might pay extra for that part of the cars early history?  Would they perhaps think that the fender tag identity of original color matters?

To answer your Question, I don't think this POS would be worth selling (scrape it) or buying, or Restoring unless it was Panther pink. Why buy this heap & throw $50,000 + restoring it just to paint it red, or yellow or blue or brown or green? :scratchchin:  LEON.

P.S. You'll always be questioned & doubted of the FM3 Legitmacy with this car. Big headache there.

I always liked that color.  if I were to do one, I would go for a little darker shade. not much, but just a little.

I had a 1970 Panther Pink Super Bee that I bought in Wyoming and drove for my junior year of college. Not an easy color to live with in the middle 80s (in either Wyoming or NW Pennsylvania). The minute I had both time and money, I repainted it to a slightly less-conspicuous color, Sublime.  The car had originally been bronze, but had been totaled early in it's life and had been bought back from the insurance company by the original owner, who then used his payout to redo it to better fit his tastes (including a black, diamond-tuck naugahyde interior) . It's saving grace in my eyes was it's professionally-repaired and straight rust-free body, low-miles original 383 magnum motor, air-grabber hood, and it's pistol-grip 4-speed. I remember if far-more fondly after I had it repainted. One of the first things my now-wife ever said to me was a rude comment about the color of my car.
