bid to 50k!!!!

maybe i should sand down the y1 paint on the quarter panel of mine and consider going back b5 lol

Mytur Binsdirti

He told me over the phone that he wants 85 large for it. Not way in hell it's worth that with bottoms of quarters that look like this...

And he claims that it's original paint.    ::)

Compare that to my original sheet metal car...

He must have edited the ebay ad. Now says "believes its been repainted"

85k large lol wants c500 money.

daveco

All issues aside, that is an awesome looking car!

Mytur Binsdirti

True, which is why I was interested in it. His ad does state that it might have been repainted and I was told over the phone by the seller that it was original paint and the engine had never been out. Since the engine compartment was painted, I doubt very strongly that the engine has never been out. When I requested some pictures of the bottoms of the quarters and rockers, he said that he would see what he could do, but he didn't have a lift, however, one of the pictures I received clearly showed the car up on a lift.

With all the visible issues that can be seen in the pictures in his ad and the ones he sent me,  along with the mistruths I was told, along with him being a flipper, I wouldn't waste the time and air fare to check it out. I have a feeling that whoever does go to look at it will be sorely disappointed if they thought they were looking at an unrestored car.

And I should of bondo'd my Fender & repainted my car, Fix the rip seats, then say original & ask $85 instead of selling for $29?

I wish my car was color coded like your 70 r/t was then id have considered keeping it the original color lol. B5 duon't know why just can't do it. There is a nice gomango 4 speed 70 r/t on fleabay now too. Seen it before on there too. didn't look at it too closely.

It's at just over 65K with one day left.----Didn't think it would go that high. :shruggy:

Mytur Binsdirti

It's go to be shill bidding. The seller didn't put a reserve on it, he's got to get the bidding up to a point where no real buyer would buy it otherwise it would really sell for around 45K.

Look at the bid history; this i***v bidder has been driving up the price from where it was stalled at 41K in big increments.

Hey RC.......did it ever occur to you that pictures might have been taken at a different time, at a location that is not where he currently has the car stored and he really doesn't have access to a lift?

That may very well be, but when I talked to the seller, he specifically told me that he didn't have any pictures of the undercarriage and 10 minutes later, I get a picture of a rocker showing it to be on a 4-post lift. Add to that, his insistence that the car is all original paint (which it clearly isn't), and that he bought it to flip, can you blame a person for being skeptical?

ws23rt

I didn't look at the bid list when I saw the current bid. ::)

Wow a jump of around 24K from two bidders with little to no ebay history.  :scratchchin:

I guess this car will be back another day for us to chat about. -- And it is building/adding to it's history in this -selling-? process. :slap:

hemi-hampton

The bidding looks suspicious :scratchchin:

My B Sheet is way nicer shape than his (na-na-na-boo-boo)

I completely agree.  Just curious?!?  With the time you've spent investigating this car, are you actually interested in buying it?

I am interested in buying a 68 or 70 R/T with factory a/c. This car came up and investigated it. However, the owner turned me off with his less than truthful responses, lack of providing good quality detailed pictures and finally, his 85 large price tag.

Mytur Binsdirti

Well, the auction jumped another 5 grand at the last 10 seconds to $65,100.00. why do I have a feeling that this car will be for sale again soon.

ws23rt

So the car sold for a paltry 65.3K-- :icon_smile_wink:

I Agree that somrthing will go wrong with the sale and it will be back. :slap:

wow I was expecting 40 -50 K
