Back bracing is a common modification for increased strength. It prevents the axle tubes from bending under heavy load. That modification will not improve the rear suspension/handling aspect....just makes the housing stronger for racing.  :yesnod:

I have never seen that.  Do you suppose it would help with wheel skip as well?

HPP

Common mod for high powered drag cars and off road racers.

No, it will not fix wheel hop in any way, shape, or form.

It's the kind of mod that's needed on a dedicated dragstrip car for fast 60ft times on slicks.  If your housing needs it then it's probably already giving you problems.

Bracing the housing in the upper/lower direction helps for landing 15ft high jumps like the General Lee.  You see it commonly on off-roaders.

Ron was on the money , 8 3/4 is strong , Dana is the king,
Bracing like this is for strength , any flex in a hard launch puts pressure on internal components , which lead to brakage , this could have been a photo of mine

dangina

i did it for added strength, did not want to go with the heavier dana, it was a cheap, easy mod!
