Does anyone know a source for the round air filter element found on the 66-70 426 HEMI Chargers ?  I have a useable one but certainly would like a source other than the expensive listing on Ebay !

OK,let's try it another way. There are two different listings on Ebay for filters. One is the repro paper element and the other (actually a couple of listings) is for the K & N reusable element. I can get the K & N element for about $90 shipped while the paper is about $40 to $45 more!

Anyone know if these can be bought cheaper?

As far as I know - and I could be very wrong about this - the original filters are long gone. There are some "incorrect" aftermarket filters floating around and even those are billed as "NOS" so they command a big price. The K&N is really the only halfway affordable option. I have one on my six pack (same deal with the original filters) and it's ok. I'm just not a fan of oiled filters - but it's better than *no* filter!

Eh, maybe this helps if you feel like reading:

These guys make one for my six pack - but this one's cheaper:

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

Thanks Troy,  I have heard the "NOS" marketed filters are incorrect which would not really be a problem except they are asking $125 plus shipping for them!  Ouch!!  The K & N filters aren't exactly cheap at $90-shipped but, I guess it is my only real option!

Not in a real hurry as I actually have a "good" original one on there now but, I need a "backup".  Thanks again Troy.

I had good success with taking an old filter to say Advance or Autozone and matching them up to something there, unless of course it is a very weird shape. Most people at these places do not mind letting you peruse there stuff.

I appreciate the tip but these Hemi-filters are bigger around than most anything else made (18" I.D. I think).  I would probably have more success finding the same height filter (2 3/4") and, somehow, adding more filter by cutting it and splicing something in.  Just as well go with a K & N the right size and be careful about oiling it too much!
