You could just replace the ball joints & bushings.
If you are looking for complete assemblies they are also available reproduction.

Yes I know, but by the time I add up the price of 2 ball joints, 2 sets of bushing and then the big PITA to change them. I am thinking a new set for around $150-180 ( seems to be the price I am finding) that already has the new bushings in and ball joint, might be the way to go !?

Exactly! Yes they are available and at a very good cost point. I have a set I've not installed yet and they look really good!  :2thumbs:  Ironically I'm installing off set bushings so I'll be removing the new ones prior to installing. (I'm doing this when I convert to big disk up front.)
They should come up in a Google search? Check eBay also.

As a general rule, the reproduction parts industry does not use steel as good as the original stuff.  I would prefer to stick with the originals for that reason.

Old UCAs can break from fatigue on cars with high mileage an/or abuse.  But most of the cars produced were never originally driven enough to worry about that.

Well have found about 6 places that sell them . They all seem to be the same MBM manufacture though . Not a problem it just that I find funny how places mark up their products more than others !!

I'm not a fan of the tube/welded adjustable ones. 10 years in steel framing I learned a lot about how stress finds any weakness and torsional stress can tear steel like paper over time. I saw plenty of posts about how the upper ball joint cuts it's threads into the socket when first installed and how that can be a problem after many years. That's part of the reason I figured I'd try these out. We will see, right now they are just sitting on a shelf.
