I have the MSD-6420 6AL Ignition Box and the P3690432 Mopar Distributor.  What connector adapter do I need to connect the two units together and what is it called and where can I get it.  The attached picture shows the distributor connector and, right now, I don't know which connector on the MSD-6AL Box it interfaces with.  It is one of those things on my to do list.

I have same distributor connected to MSD 6A box. The black wire from distributor goes to green wire from msd harness. The orange wire from distributor goes to purple wire from MSD harness. Don't know about any adaptor plugs I cut off the plug from distributor and crimped on other fittings to connect to msd harness. Not saying this is the right way, I understand if you don't want to cut any wires you might want to keep searching if an adaptor exists.

I'm pretty sure that's what I did as well with my MSD 6A and MP distributor.  When it comes to wiring, few things are truly plug and play...

John,

I just purchased a universal connector set and splice it into the distributor and MSD harness.  :yesnod:

One like this works fine and it snaps together securely and the connections are weatherproof.  :2thumbs:

When I did mine I ordered an extra harness from the ecu to the dist. from Chrysler and hacked off the five pin plug and did it from there.  That way I soldered connectors on and still could put the Mopar ecu back in if I sold the car and wanted to keep the MSD.  A good decision as it turned out.

That is what I did, but I used an original connector from a factory harness. This alternative would be easier in that you can probably go down to your local parts store and pick it up.

I am running the same MSD using the same trigger, a Chrysler Electronic distributor

Thank you
It looks like everyone had to do some modification.
When my engine was on the dyno, they also had an MSD-6al box.
I saw that he had a 6 inch cable connected between the Distributor and MSD.
He probably made it himself as he may have needed it many times.
I will check with them and see what they did.  If so, I will do one of the mods suggested here.
Thanks again
John
