Years ago, 1985 to be more accurate, I was on my way to the spring or fall Carlisle swap in my Satellite convertible. I left after work on a Friday & while I was on the interstate my alternator gauge suddenly maxed out. It was 10pm or so & only a gas station that sold batteries & fan belts was open. The guy pumping gas couldn't help until my battery exploded in the parking lot. He then sold me a battery.  :smilielol:

From that point on I have added to my spare parts that I carry with me, a voltage regulator & a ballast resistor.   ::)

The good thing is I don't drive an old car for my daily driver anymore.
