Hi guys, wondering what is the easiest way (if there is) to remove the charger "arrow" from the front headlight door and the emblem between the tail lights

my charger was a 383 before, now has a 440, so I want to install the r/t emblems

is there a trick to getting them out? how do I go about getting the headlight door off?

and the one on the back, do you just pop them out?

Ghoste

The one on the back is held on by three speed nuts on the inside of the panel, I forget how the front is held on but it doesn't require the door to come off to change it.
No shame in leaving the arrows on though you know. :Twocents:

I know that...but I like the look of the r/t....I will keep the old emblems for sure tho...even tho the back one is broke ..

Pretty sure you'll gave to drill another hoke for the R/T emblem.
FLY NAVY/Marine Corps or take the bus!

Are we dealing with a '69?
Then the back will require a hole to be filled, three studs on the arrow and only two for the R/T emblem.
Headlight door emblem is easier to get to after taking out a headlight bulb.

yes we are dealing with a 69 charger

the front headlight door has the arrow on it....the "charger" decal is on the grill itself...that's staying

the rear emblem is a "charger" with the arrow...held it by 3 prongs

UFO

Front emblem has two phillips head screws holding it on.R/T emblem on frt uses the same holes and screws.

how would I go about doing this?

UFO

I don't remember the pattern off hand but I think all three(from the arrow emblem) have to be filled. Then two new ones for the R/T emblem drilled.
A welder is about the best way to go. Bondo or JB weld might work but it's not what I would do.

Stegs

oh really? I didn't know that, I thought the new emblem would fit in the old holes.....hmm....

yea I might not want to do that until I have the car repainted next year....maybe ill just do the r/t on the headlight door for now.....

thanks for the info!
