The carpet in the cargo area and truck divider sections of my '66 have been faded since I bought the car a couple months ago.  I've been looking at more affordable options to address the issue than replacing the carpet (my wife's not a fan of me spending any more $ on the car).

Does anyone have any first-hand experience with dyeing faded carpet, and if so, what product(s) did you use?

I've used rattle can spray paint on black carpet and it worked better than I ever thought it would. Jegs sells "OER" brand interior paint in reproduction colors and the blue colors I've used are very close if not spot on. I'd assume it would work on the carpet just as well.

I ended up using Duplicolor Vinyl and Fabric Coating.  It did the trick.  See before and after pics.
