Anyone had much experience with these ? I've had the ones before where you unscrew the caps but never had ones with the cable before, what route does it usually go through to the cockpit ? Thanks

My self JMF, I no longer like cut outs! I had my 68 Road Runner exhaust done like a 63 Max wedge exhaust because I was running a 426 Maxie. Opened them up maybe 7 times, 6 of the times was at the track. Car was some what faster than closed, something like .003. Was quicker when I dropped the pipes and ran open headers.

Reason I really did not like them? Sounded like a Stock Car not a drag car.

Are you wanting them for racing, or just to be loud?  :scratchchin:

To me, fast cars are not loud!  :D

Excellent, I just bought a set.
WANTED: NOS or excellent condition 72-74 4 speed shifter boot for bench or centre armrest car, part number 3467755. It's a rubber boot that looks like it's sewn up leather.

WANTED: My original 440 blocks. Serial # 2A188182 and 3A100002

Would a 2" cutout with them open be a lot quieter than a 3" cutout ?

I have heard several cars with cutouts (electric) but they sounded not that great as only part of the exhaust goes out the cutout and the rest still went out the back.  Best ones I heard had one set to shut off the regular exhaust while the other set opened to cutout forcing all exhaust out the cutout.  I think about something like that but with some form of race muffler with good sound but not like a broken exhaust pipe.  Anybody do this?
As far as the original question goes,  I seemed to remember that they didn't seal good over time using manual cables.
