Trying to find the history on my 69 and since my initial attempts online both here and on other sites haven't produced much I wanted to check if the Alabama DMV was one of the ones that would help you locate former owners?

I live in Alabama. It just depends, very easy to get a tag here but they may not be very helpful tracking down a car your searching for.

Okay, well that's a start anyway.  Thanks.

I live in Alabama too, I would guess not. Alabama DMV sucks at record keeping (Feds made them do some upgrades here recently, office was actually closed a few days because of this, don't know if it was state wide, but local dept was), and Alabama does not require, nor issues titles for cars built prior to 1975.

Which seems to be a lax policy though in one sense.  Has anyone here tried to get past info from them?

I forgot to mention, I was a dealer here in Alabama until a few years ago. My advice would be to try small town, local offices. The people at the capital (Montgomery) are very worthless if you need help. I live out in the country, I'm usually the only person at the tag office when I go. If you need any assistance with this just let me know.  :2thumbs:

Btw: You might be searching for one of us AL boys cars!

Car was sold new in AL according to my info and belonged to first two owners there so far as I know.
