Wheels!

Time for a set of wheels for my 75! I'm running stock 14" now but want something a bit bigger and with some 70's retro style.

I'm not sure on sizing and am a bit confused. I'm sure that 15 x 7 with a 225 will work nicely on the front. On the rear I'd like to get something that fills ups the wheel well BUT am not interested in something so big that I have to worry about rubbing.

I'd like a 15 x 8 with a 275 but am concerned about the back spacing. Frankly I don't know what all that back spacing is about.

I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Any thoughts on sizes???

Thanks!

I have no clue what fits on a 75, I know 2nd gen Chargers and...2nd gen Chargers.   :icon_smile_big:

Backspacing is measured from the back of the hub (bolt holes) to the edge of the rim facing the axle.  The more backspace a wheel has, the more your tire will move towards the center of the car and inner wheel well.  The less backspacing, the more the tire moves outward.  On a 2nd gen, a 15x8 with a bs of 4 to 5 and a 275 will have room to spare but will look nice and centered.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

Like Dino,  I, also, have no clue about a '75 model but, I do have 15x7 with 225x70x15 fronts and 15x8 with 275x60x15 rears on mine.  They were an easy fit and I have absolutely no problems with backspacing! Just about anyone's standard backspacing for these sizes should fit but, ....... no real clue on a '75.

75's (While appearing confusing) are a true blue "B" body with lots and lots that are interchangeable.

After I sold my 69 in August and picked this one up in November, the learning curve was almost nil.

I don't know what size tires you need....but I'd like to see more pictures of your Roadrunner  :2thumbs:

about tires... check the 3rd gen tires combo thread. Springs and frame rails are the same, and wheel wells are allmost the same ( pretty sure inner is the same )

about wheels... I think everybody will post the same opinions and the same we have being posting since ever. Cragars, TorqTrust ( although they are too much Chevy to me ), Keystones Klassic, Mags, Magnums, Smoothies

I think on your car, Magnums are not the right choice anyway, neither Smothies. Keystones and Craggars are a good option... Mags could be too, but they are too basic to me.

Maybe GL turbines ( vector ) could be a good option too ?

American racing CP200S ? ( polished version ) something similar to Cragars but a little bit diff, middle of the line between them and TTs, not excesivelly common like the Cragars and will fit nicelly with you RR body lines

Venezuelan RT 74 400 4bbl, 727, 8.75 3.23 open. Now stroked with 440 crank and 3.55 SG. Here is the History and how is actually: http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,7603.0/all.html

It is the same wheelbase and platform as the 75-79 Charger/Cordoba/Magnum.  115 inches so i would assume it shares everything else as well.
