saginaw steering pump resevoir oring

Does anyone know the dimension of the oring i need to reseal my resevoir to the pump body? Mine leaks so bad that in 5 hours its bone dry.... never pulled one of these apart either. Is it as simple as the mounting bolts coming out and the resevoir lifting off? Looks straight forward.

Hi,

You can get a kit for these pumps that will give you the front shaft seal and the can O ring as well as some small seals behind the mounting studs. The Saginaw pumps are easy to reseal and I would just get the whole kit and replace all the seals. Even the front shaft seal is fairly easy to replace. Make sure all the new seals are coated with power steering fluid as you reassemble things.

Looked up a diagram. Looks like a peice of cake. I checked my local store with no luck. I will try a few other chains for the parts kit. I see they are 12-13 bucks. Just want to find one in stock

 looks like Jegs has them ,  same seal  kit does for  chevys with a Saginaw    , you can get the seal kits with out the bearing too

Lol, i tried the lucas... didnt even slow it down. Im thinking the oring must have split. Its really really bad

This picture shows the power steering pump from my 1968 Charger R/T (440 Engine).
What brand or model pump is it?

No,  have a good look at mountings brackets , won't interchange, 440 source has new Brkts for the Saginaw pump, has the pump also
