Hi guys,

Just joined the site. Looks like a great group of guys. I don't currently own a charger but since I was a kid a 68 Charger has been the car of my dreams.   Due to lack of time and lack of mechanical skill I will likely need to buy a car that is already in fairly good condition.  I'm hoping to purchase in the next 12 months but I'm not in a hurry.

I've spent a ton of time on the site reading posts and have learned a ton about the charger I never previously knew. Any suggestions for a first charger?

I'm in So Cal and will be at spring fling Saturday. Anyone else going to be there?

Hello and welcome
Good luck with your search.
I'll be at Spring Fling in the swap area. I will have a cloth sign on my Ram P/U that reads "VegasCharger DC.com Member"

Welcome.
Depends on what you are looking for and what you want to spend.
Your options are varied on model and condition.

Welcome!

As far as tips go, try not to buy the first car that comes along.  Wait for the one that speaks to you.  Be aware that depending on what options you like, it may be hard or even impossible to find one that matches your wish list so you may have to compromise a bit.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

Everyone's gonna be at Spring Fling but me.

'OP visualize the car that you want, and let that guide your search.  Personally, I would try to find the car in the best shape possible, even though it may not be your "dream" car.  Colors, options and things like that can be changed, modified or whatever later on with relative ease, but the same can't be said if the car has body or frame damage, or is missing a significant amount of parts.  Above all else, keep asking questions.  You're lucky-you've got the intrawebz and this wonderful forum full of knowledge to help you find your car; back in the day when I got my car the only outlet of information I had was old-timer rhetoric and the movie Bullitt...

Well I was gonna see if you wanted to help me work on my ride and get familiar with an engine bay but we're not exactly within walkin distance.  Welcome.

Welcome to the group Provida. Im not nearly experienced enough like most of these guys to give that kind of advice. I will say even though I think I ended up with a great car, If I had it to do over I would have attended at least a couple major auctions. Since getting my car last December I've seen some amazing cars come up at auction.
