I have an auto 70 charger, just picked it up today! I never worked on mopar cars and never had an auto tranny! Why does it drop hard when I go from park to any gear? Is that something I need to live with or is there a fix?

It sounds like the idle speed is set too high for some reason.  :yesnod:

Big cam, high idle, stock converter perhaps?
