A friend of mine likes the 101 Wild Turkey which is a bit harsh, but I found one they make called Rare Breed that is much smoother. I'll buy a bottle every once in a while & pour a shot or two at night to sip while watching the TV. I don't like it mixed with anything or with ice.

I think Jamison's is my favorite. Though I have gone through times when JD did it for me or Jim Beam. While in the service I learned the trick about filtering cheap booze. We made boiler whiskey and boiler wine. Let me tell you, if it was unfiltered it would burn a hole in the deckplates!!

We also found out in rather rough seas, that spilled booze cleans up oil very well... ;)

I wonder if filtering good booze would even clean it up more??  :shruggy:

Spoken like a true deep water sailor! God bless ya squid.

Scotch and Nyquil are the only two which have not been placed the no-drink-list by the Authorities (wife).  :icon_smile_dissapprove:

So I guess it's Scotch.  I'm slowly enjoying a bottle of 18 yr old Glenlivet.  :D

Wild Turkey has been my favorite for a long time, 30 years or so. But in my misspent youth I when thru  a lot of Thompson's green label,
real good stuff, aged for as long as it takes to get from the distillery to the bar.

BananaDan

I'm a single malt guy and haven't found a bottle I haven't liked, but if I have a go-to brand, it's Oban.  I've been getting more and more into Bourbon lately as a lot of new US producers have been popping up.

Ever see this one? It's dated 1971 & has never been opened.
