If you're in the STL metro area, please let me know.  Would like to compare/ask regarding experience you've had w/ local repair/body shops.
thanks!

Yes.

I'm in the metro east.

I have a friend on the west side that does beautiful work.

What do you need?

Really need two things.
I'd like to replace most all the front suspension / steering linkage parts since very few were replaced when car was restored.  Since I lowered the nose late last year and need to re-align front end, the plan was to do this over the winter myself then get re-alignment before spring.  Unfortunately, this didn't happen due to other priorities (raising 3 girls under age of 4).

I know a few mechanics that have worked on 40+ year old cars before but would welcome any recommendations you guys have for people/shops that you trust.

Second thing, to your question Dirk, last year when I was getting the car ready for winter, I had the car up on jack stands for something I was doing.  When I went to take all the weight off the jack, I had accidently left one of the stands partially underneath the car..... :brickwall: so I did a little damage to the passenger side fender that attaches to the side sill as you see in the photo.  Needless to say, it made me sick to my stomach but... stuff happens.  I primed the little bit of exposed metal right away and the car has never been out in the rain so its been protected over the winter but would like to get it fixed before start driving it again.  So, looking for reliable shop if you have any recommendations.

thanks!

My friend's shop is in Wentzville.

He did the paint on my car.

He's a Restoration shop.

Not a body shop.

Yes, They can do the front end work, too.

P.M. me if you're interested.

Dino

I'm sorry to hear about that mishap Paul but as a former body man I can tell you that will be a very easy fix.  Your baby will be like new again in no time!

thanks Dirk, yeah, I know it could have been much worse.  In fact, the same day this happened, when I took it for a spin later on, an old lady ran thru a stop sign at an intersection i was driving thru which caused me to stand on the brakes (which, fortunately, I had rebuilt) to avoid her t-boning me on the driver side.... After that, I just turned the car around, drove it home and shut the garage door.  Figured the car (and me) had been through enough for 1 day  :icon_smile_blackeye:

Been there done that.  Wise decision, the fun is out of the drive by now anyway.   :yesnod:
