Love it but wish I had at least three of them for capturing different angles at the same time. Definitely get the car mount.

Enjoy mine but haven't taken it out much.

Here are some of the videos I took, please excuse the quality, that was screwups on my end, not the camera. Always film in 1080 unless you want to do some slow motion work, then it has to be 960 if I'm not mistaken.

Here's a burnout video (attached to quarter panel):

That's cool!  Maybe when I get my hood turn signal assemblies installed and a better sounding exhaust I'll do the same thing!

Biggest thing about having your gopro outside the car is to build a sound muffler

It looks funny but cuts down on a LOT of the wind sounds you can get.

I have two but have never used them in or on a car.

Is that a kit or something you made?

:2thumbs: Great quality video from them.  I would suggest getting the LCD BacPac, if you don't have one of the supported tablets or phones to use the live view app.  Otherwise, you can't see what's in the camera frame, until you look at the playback(they don't have a viewfinder).  You will definitely want the suction cup car mount as stated.  The underwater housing is fun too.  Although, the waterproof case might not be out yet for the 3.  An extra battery is always nice to have too.

I have 2, I recommend the Fat Gecko mount instead of the Go Pro car mount.  It's more adjustable, dual suction cups.  You need to get a tripod adapter piece for the go pro as well.

This is the second video I ever shot using the GoPros.  Just slapped one on my Jeep drove it around the block, moved the camera, repeated for all the different angles.

I tried various things to get the mic sounding better but could not get anything out of it. I tried some external mics as well and that was decent, but I decided to go one better and got a multi-track recorder and a few different mics.  I went through a few different configurations:

Eventually I settled on a configuration that works decent.  This video was shot with both cameras mounted at the same time and the multi-track recorder.  I then edited the video and layered the audio mix in afterwards:

Unfortunately I got the charger too late in the season to get it drivable to the point where I was okay making videos.

I don't own one, although I seem to have it more often than the actual owner, lol...

They have come a long way in just the last 2+ years...of course, with the advances, comes the price jump.  I'll probably pick one up this year so we can utilize 1 on each car. If you're big into technology I would go for the remote option...if that isn't your thing I believe the LCD Backpack is also a great investment (mostly so you can easily tell that you are in fact recording).

The biggest issue for auto use, as mentioned, is simply the wind noise when mounted outside.  You almost have to lower the sound track to avoid a really high pitched screech in some cases.

I've also found that the mic on the original GoPro tends to pick sound up a bit differently.  I have a lot of videos between the AAM and LSM YouTube Channels you can check out...In a few of the videos I specifically cite which clips are from the GoPro and which are from my Canon etc.

If you put it on your car with the suction cup make sure it is locked and it will not come off...I've had it up somewhere around 130-140 with no issues, although once it did swivel back (totally unrelated to the suction cup).  Also be sure to release the suction cup fully before pulling the mount off...This is harder to do as you get closer to the center of the car.  It sounds weird, but you'll know what I'm talking about if you get the GoPro.

As long as you plan to really use it I can't think of a scenario where you wouldn't enjoy it and get your money's worth.  Any friends into that sort of a thing can also mount up your cam to film you and racers like to see their quarter mile passes, or shifts...You'll probably be pretty popular if no one else in your circle of friends has one.  The best thing is that you can always add the accessories later and there are many 3rd party gadgets you can pick up and test out.

Which car mount are you using? Would this one be adequate or should I buy something else. http://www.ebay.com/itm/121272919323?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
