Which voltmeter marking would fit a 68-70 Charger best?

Volt
1 (4.3%)
Volts
13 (56.5%)
Battery
9 (39.1%)

...would the face say volt, volts, or battery?  Since the ammeter says alternator, I went with battery but I want your take on this.

Neither

It should read AC/DC with a lightning bolt  :METAL:

Tilar

Actually it would be a "I'm the very first car in history to tell you that the battery has 12 volts instead of what the alternator amperage is at this current moment in history" meter... but that might take a lot of space on the gauge.    :scratchchin:

Actually I would think it would say "Volts" or "Voltage"

How are you thinking it will read?  0........16        0....12....24   12-..........12+    :shruggy:  Where will it get this reading from?

ws23rt

I lean toward Batt. but these days a little image of a battery would be in order for those that don't speak languages.

And it should have a yellow-green-red range like on some battery chargers.

Good question.

I'm using a voltmeter with a stock Charger gauge face.  The voltmeter reads 8 - 16.  It needs to look like it came this way from the factory so no colors or little batteries.

I put a vote in for "battery"

Just looks more period correct to me :Twocents:

PS---who's doing it?

Although volts is more common and may even look better, I think battery would be more correct myself.

I did it myself yesterday morning.  All I need to do is figure out what I want it to look like and print off a decal.

I'll post the how to when it's done.

yeah , think it would be Battery too  :yesnod:

having said this when I converted mine to a volt meter ,  & desgined the new  gauge face , used the word Volts because it was easier , less letters

All this talk of conversions.  Anyone have a DIY post of this process?

I should have one shortly.  I did not make the decal yet but I can post everything up to that point today or tomorrow.

Juice would look a bit funny.

Brian that looks great!  I just did one design where it says battery and I have it marked 8 - 18.  I may go with it, not sure yet.

Did you install that cluster yet and do you know if the difference in whites shows up when the lights are on?  The biggest issue I have now is to match the whites.

Dino... that cluster has been installed for years now... it's just the only pic I could find that showed what it said.  Like I said I sent it off to redline for the conversion.   Works good, blah blah blah.     :2thumbs:

Well it sure looks great!

This is the one I came up with.  It's not finished yet, I need to move the numbers a bit, but it's getting close to what I want.

I say battery. Make 2... ;)

Troy

I guess that was bound to happen!

I'll share the wealth if I can come up with a good finished product.   :icon_smile_big:

Right now I either have to salvage the needle off my ammeter or paint the spare one I have but was mangled a bit.  Once I can glue it in place I can post a diy on this.

It should read "Remove wires from back or your car will burn to the ground!" :icon_smile_big:

My conversion from Redline says Volt.

Hah, nice one , will consider that option when I ever get that far...

NOS is nice, turbo's are neat, but when it comes to Mopars, there's no need to cheat...

I'm gonna have to abbreviate that a bit...
