So I tried joining the Chevelle forums to ask about late 60s Chevelle's, since the 41 Chrysler is sitting on a 68 Chevelle frame.

I think I even asked posted a question on there about the front suspension, and this is what I get as a email a few minutes ago.

Dear rp23g7,

Why join a Chevelle only forum, when most right here on the cool side the internet prolly know more than they do as most have owned them including myself???
What's the question?

So true. I was just asking what yrs they used the same frame, control arms, etc, 62-72, and up, and how to identify Nova/Camaro, Chevelle/GTO/Cutlass frames

May be a few slight differences, but my own was a 1969 SS396 car with 4 speed.
I know the control arms were only different on things like Z/28 and SS models due to larger lower control arm bushings.

I got rejected from them too, i tried to join them to get info on my 70 olds cutlass s, which basically a chevelle with some class  :coolgleamA:

Since when did a Chevelle become such an elite car?  I would have thought they'd welcome anybody that wasn't building a darn Camaro.

Ghoste

Chevelle guys can be elitist but then I guess so are we (or maybe just peaking for myself), a buddy of mine in town had Chevelles for years and then went out and bought a Nova and his Chevelle friends all teased him about it.  He bought another one to spite them. :shruggy:

F**k 'em.  Sounds to me like they're the GM version of Moparts...

68-72 Chevelle are the same. Nova & Camaro are unibody with front subframes.

Wonder what kind of proof of ownership is required to join?

I know that feeling, sometimes forum admins can be real PRs.  I used to get it on Mustang forums all the time.

"You've got a Thunderbird, it's not the same!"  Oh really Cha-chi?  And the fact that it's on a FOX chasis which has many interchangeable parts with many other fox body cars some how negates the fact that I could have been an asset to your cheesy lil forum?  I know how to build a 347 by myself, I've pretty much built a FOX body from the ground up, and I've got stupid knowledge on almost anything pre 1993 Ford.  BUT! Because I don't have a Mustang, my opinion doesn't apparently matter.  Not to mention the Mustang wasn't even the first car to use the FOX design...

Well, to people like that I say "Enjoy your lil p-shooter of a 302 with it's super strong e303 cam, I'll go build real cars and talk to fun people!"

And that my friends, is why I'm glad to be here...

Shame you had to deal with losers sir!  I'm sure some of us would have the knowledge to help you with things though  :2thumbs:
